Dr. Pearl Lai is originally from Colorado. She studied at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine and worked as a general dentist in the Denver metro area. During this time, she discovered her passion for periodontics, a specialty that focuses on the gums and bones supporting teeth. Driven by this interest, Dr. Lai moved to Minnesota and completed her periodontics residency at the Mayo Clinic. After finishing her specialized training, she returned to Colorado to practice periodontics.
Dr. Lai is committed to offering patients the latest and most comfortable treatment options through technological advancements and innovation. She performs various procedures, including laser gum surgery (known as LANAP), pinhole gum rejuvenation, bone grafts, dental implants, and other dental treatments.
Dr. Lai values her relationships with patients and colleagues. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys activities like camping, archery, mountain biking, snowboarding, and maintaining a marine reef tank.
Wonderful energy. The person I spoke to on the phone was kind, patient, and answered all my questions about the process. All staff members, the front desk, dental assistants and Dr. Montoya made sure I felt seen and heard and gave me their full time and attention throughout the whole appointment. This made my experience less stressful as I have dental anxiety. I’m very happy with his recommendations and treatment options.

This is coming from an incredibly high anxiety patient, after two jaw surgeries in the past and a high aversion to any dentist procedures. Dr Montoya’s team has been incredibly kind, patient and accommodating with me to where for the first time in almost a decade I don’t dread going to the dentist. I now love visiting them!
I also didn’t feel like it was an uphill battle to advocate for myself or what I needed to feel comfortable as I’ve felt I’ve had to do everywhere else. I just had to explain my circumstances once, and they did everything to make me comfortable and take any treatment slowly.

Dr. Montoya is an excellent dentist with exceptional attention to detail. His design skills are outstanding and he uses all of the latest technology to do high quality restorative work. He is a kind person with an ability to explain things in a clear, concise way. His office staff, hygienists and assistants are all friendly and talented. Overall an incredible dental practice.
I’ve been a patient for a year and half now and every visit is a pleasant one. The staff is very welcoming and professional. My cleanings, exams, and procedures are thorough and comfortable. I feel well taken care of when I’m there, and never pressured into anything that is not necessary (unlike other practices I’ve been to in the past). Very glad I found this practice and would recommend it others in a heart beat.
I was eating a granola bar and a crown came off of one of my back molars. Thank God I was only about 10 minutes away from their office.
I arrived at the office at about 12:55 and they were just getting ready to go to lunch. Since I wasn’t in any pain, they told me to come back at 2pm. So I came back at 2 and they took care of me right away!!! Everyone in the office was very friendly, courteous and professional. And Doctor Montoya did an awesome job!!! He’s the first dentist I’ve ever had who put my crown back in perfectly the first time!!!
I’ve had other dentists but crowns back in. However they always took one or something even 2 times to get it adjusted perfectly. So in conclusion Thank you Doctor Montoya along with your team, for making me feel like family the moment I entered your office!
