Traditional metal braces are a great way to create the straight, beautiful smile you desire. Not everyone is a good candidate for other types of orthodontics, but braces can be used on practically any patient to align their smile.
Your treatment will begin with a consultation, where your dentist examines your mouth and discusses your smile goals. We’ll take a set of X-rays and may even take images using our 3-D CT scanner. We’ll lay out your treatment plan, and you can decide how best to proceed for your smile.
After your braces are placed, you’ll return to our office every few weeks for a progress check and to make adjustments as necessary. The finished product will be beautiful rows of straight and even teeth!
If you’d like a more discreet orthodontic option than standard braces, you may want to find out more about clear ceramic braces. They offer all the benefits of regular braces, but are less noticeable. You’ll wear ceramic, tooth-colored brackets, wires, and ligatures (rubber bands), so your orthodontic care isn’t as noticeable. I’ve been a patient for a year and half now and every visit is a pleasant one. The staff is very welcoming and professional. My cleanings, exams, and procedures are thorough and comfortable. I feel well taken care of when I’m there, and never pressured into anything that is not necessary (unlike other practices I’ve been to in the past). I was eating a granola bar and a crown came off of one of my back molars. Thank God I was only about 10 minutes away from their office.
I arrived at the office at about 12:55 and they were just getting ready to go to lunch. Since I wasn’t in any pain, they told me to come back at 2pm. So I came back at 2 and they took care of me right away!!! Everyone in the office was very friendly, courteous and professional. And Doctor Montoya did an awesome job!!! He’s the first dentist I’ve ever had who put my crown back in perfectly the first time!!!

Traditional metal braces are what most people think of when orthodontic treatment comes to mind. This method uses metal brackets, bands, and wires to move your teeth into their correct positions. You’ll come in every few weeks to make sure your treatment is on course and to get your braces tightened by your dentist.
Each patient is different, with unique needs and circumstances. Consequently, it is difficult to quote a price on your treatment with metal braces until we’ve had a chance to perform an examination and work up a treatment plan. We encourage you to come in for an initial consultation, so we can design a treatment plan just for you and give you an accurate price for your orthodontic care.
Keeping your teeth clean while wearing braces is similar to your usual oral hygiene routine. You should use a soft-bristle toothbrush. Try to avoid brushing too aggressively, so you don’t risk damaging your brackets and wires. It’s also wise to replace your toothbrush more often than you normally would. Flossing is different because it requires a special tool to thread the dental floss around your braces.
